3 Essential Steps for Masterful Training

For years I have studied experts in a wide range of endeavors, included sports, science, and the arts, as well as professional trainers. There are three attributes that each of them share. They have developed an exceptional ability to install new information, to increase the depth of their knowledge, and have the ability to trigger superior performance with ease. These three steps apply both to the trainer’s skills as well as to how to accelerate the student’s progress.

My studies have involved two groups of people. The first are those that either started early in life or have dedicated thousands of hours of practice. Someone has been in the training and education for several decades would be included in that group. The second are those people who seem to be able to rapidly acquire and master expert skills. It is this second group that interests me the most. Here are some of...

The Joy of Total Relaxation

When your mind and body are relaxing, they are repairing. The largest part of our nervous system, which runs without your conscious awareness, has two modes. When you are in a deep state of relaxation, you are experiencing what is known as a parasympathetic response. This means that your digestion system and other major life-sustaining organs are fully functioning and your immune system is working at its best. The opposite state is called a sympathetic response. Typically those systems and organs that were operating at their best in the parasympathetic mode are now taking a subordinate role to those that are involved in your protection and safety. This latter condition is what happens when you are experiencing negative stress.

In this hectic, multi-tasking, chronic stress world, we are literally wearing ourselves out. Prolonged periods of sympathetic-protection mode...

When you are grateful fear disappears and abundance appears

“When you are grateful fear disappears and abundance appears” – Anthony Robbins, Self Help Guru

There has been much written in the last couple of years about the law of attraction, attracting wealth and manifesting prosperity. Just rub the universe’s magic lamp and whatever you wish will appear. “The Secret” movie inspired hundreds of thousands to believe temporarily in a universe under our control, rather than a fickle mistress.

But so many people missed the whole point about the law of attraction and abundance. They perceived prosperity and wealth as being only in the tangible – the cars, the fat bank accounts, the brand new homes. But it is so much more than that. It is being more than whole – of being so full with abundance that you cannot help but overflow to others. And that feeling of wholeness can come with a modest bank account or with a million...

04/04/2012

The similarities between humans and animals are striking. We look back at our ancestors’ journey as hunters and gatherers where we traveled in packs, similar to the way in which wolves travel.
