We’re at the beginning of a new decade. The end of 2009 left many people shell-shocked from the world-wide economic meltdown. Thousands have lost jobs, homes and life savings. But, as with any adversity, humans have the ability to recreate themselves, to create a better future.
However, change – whether on a global scale or personal – starts with thought. To change your weight, your finances, your outlook on life you have to change how you think. There is power in thought. It is where creativity begins. If you cannot perceive of yourself as being slim, it’s unlikely that you’ll lose the weight. I know that this...

Your confidence concerning your ability to handle any task in life has a lot to do with where your mind is at the time. Actually, achieving confidence is quite simple once you understand this simple concept. Think for a moment. Where is your conscious awareness right now? Are you ruminating needlessly about something that happened in the past? Or, are you obsessing about a difficulty that hasn’t even happened yet?
When the perceived difficulty of a pending task is considered greater than the perceived capability to handle it, then negative stress occurs. Obviously, this involves how your mind organizes space and time. When regarding the past, if you always focus on your past failure to say or do the right thing, then you are contaminating the present with your inadequacies. On the other hand, if you choose to focus on the times that you were previously successful or the positive...
