How do homes become overpriced? Sellers often have an unrealistic idea of what their home is worth, often because they paid too much when they bought it! When most sellers decide to list their homes for sale they call the agent who sold the home to them. It is very unlikely and difficult for this agent to tell the sellers they may have paid too much for the house when they purchased it,and what the current 2009 Current Market Value is so again the house remains overpriced. Additionally New agents still need listings to get exposure (yard signs, television shows, newspaper advertisements, etc.). They do what they can to get listings because of their desire to succeed. Because they lack experience, many new agents frequently accept listings that are unrealistically overpriced. A Substantial number of agents work only part time. They often do not have time to learn the value of homes in a particular area. As a result, the properties they list may not be priced within the range of current market values. Stroudsburg is a borough in Monroe County, Pennsylvania, 53 miles (85 km) southeast of Scranton It is the meeting point of the McMichaels, Pocono and Brodhead creeks, before the Brodhead empties into the Delaware River. It is five miles (8 km) from the famous Delaware Water Gap. In 1900, 3,450 people inhabited Stroudsburg; in 1910, 4,379; and in 1940, 6,186 people lived here.
