Jacksonville offers Brother's Bar, where the Allman Bros. once played in the 1970s and which boosts local musicians. There is another bar, Pelham's (formerly Fuller's, Gaterz, and the Galley Tavern,) where JSU students often frequent. Both of these line the city square in the middle of town. Harvest Moon, a specialty gift store, is a unique addition on the south end of Jacksonville off Highway 21. The Purple Store has a bunch of cheap clothes and is open Thurs, Fri., and Sat. CD CELLAR and COSMIC DEBRIS are located in nearby Lenlock and Oxford, respectively. Also, the Quintard Mall, located in nearby Anniston, has a wide variety of clothing stores, a food court and many nearby restaurants, and a movie theater. Jacksonville has a large Wal-Mart, but it is often crowded, and it would be better to shop elsewhere on the weekends.
