Concord (kän-kord) is a city in Cabarrus County, North Carolina, United States. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 55,977. It is the county seat of Cabarrus CountyGR6. Winner of the All-America City Award in 2004, Concord is home to Lowe's Motor Speedway; Concord Mills Mall, North Carolina's largest tourist attraction; and a NASCAR Research and Development Office. Several NASCAR race teams are based in Concord, including Hendrick Motorsports, Roush Racing, and Chip Ganassi Racing.
