Beware the national news...Updated...Again...
That picture may not correctly reflect the market conditions in the Triad area of North Carolina. Because our market never experienced the runaway inflation of areas such as some in California, Arizona, and Florida to name a few, we have not experienced those tumbling prices. The stability of our market should give comfort to both buyers and sellers. For the buyers there is an excellent inventory and incredible low interest rates. For the sellers, homes in show condition attract buyers locally and those many relocating to our area from other states. Let us show you Greensboro homes or ones available in adjoining areas of High Point, Jamestown, Kernersville or the communities of Oak Ridge, Summerfield, Pleasant Garden. We also work in Rockingham, Randolph and Caswell Counties where you are likely to find homes in a more rural settings.
The statistics for 2008 are in and, as reported above, we have not been hit like so many other areas of the country. Nationally home prices fell 26.2% in 2008 but the decline in the Greensboro market area was only 4.1%. Our adjusted sales price for 2008 was $186,823. The existing home that sold (remember these are averages) had 2,059 square feet, 1.5 levels, 2.3 baths, and 1.3 garage spaces.
UPDATE:
First time homebuyers who purchase a home from the start of 2009 until December 1, 2009, may receive the lower of an $8000 or 10% tax credit. Remember this is a tax credit NOT a tax deduction. Home buyers who do not have a tax liability as high as the credit due will receive a check for the difference.
At this time mortgage rate are so attractive for qualified buyers at 4.75% on 2-20-09 for 30 year fixed rate loan.http://www.powerful-persuasion-exposed.com/

Greensboro, North Carolina, is a city in Guilford County in the U.S. state of North Carolina. It is the largest city in the Piedmont Triad region.
As of the 2000 census, the city population was 223,891, making it the third most populous city in North Carolina. Its estimated 2006 population is 240,955.
It is located at the intersection of two interstate highways (I-85 and I-40) in the Piedmont ("foot of the mountains") region in central North Carolina.
In 1808, Greensborough (as it was spelled before 1895) was planned around a central courthouse square to replace Guilford Court House as the county seat. This act moved the county courts closer to the geographical center of the county, a location more easily reached by a greater number of the county's citizens.
