As of the censusGR2 of 2000, there were 23,537 people, 9,542 households, and 6,421 families residing in the city. The population density was 1,937.7/km² (5,019.2/mi²). There were 9,854 housing units at an average density of 811.2/km² (2,101.3/mi²). The racial makeup of the city was 75.24% White, 21.38% African American, 0.10% Native American, 1.50% Asian, 0.01% Pacific Islander, 0.42% from other races, and 1.35% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.02% of the population. Like Cleveland Heights to the east and University Heights to the south, South Euclid is racially integrated. A large portion of the city's population consist of Italian-Americans, Jews, and immigrants from Russia and other former Soviet republics. There were 9,542 households out of which 32.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 50.9% were married couples living together, 13.6% had a female householder with no husband present, and 32.7% were non-families. -- Source: Wikipedia.com
