There were 6,465 housing units at an average density of 1,254.3/km² (3,255.1/mi²). The racial makeup of the borough was 83.77% White, 1.49% African American, 0.10% Native American, 10.96% Asian, 0.01% Pacific Islander, 1.94% from other races, and 1.74% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 8.36% of the population. There were 6,370 households out of which 34.7% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 61.8% were married couples living together, 9.5% had a female householder with no husband present, and 25.3% were non-families. 22.3% of all households were made up of individuals and 11.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
