There were 4,083 housing units at an average density of 186.6/km² (483.4/mi²). The racial makeup of Burlington, Ky is presently (2006) 93.9% White, 1.89% African American, 0.6% Native American, 1.11% Asian, 0.01% Pacific Islander, 0.94% from other races, and 1.06% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.73% of the population. There were 3,799 households out of which 42.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 62.3% were married couples living together, 10.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and 24.0% were non-families. 19.0% of all households were made up of individuals and 3.9% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
