The racial makeup of the city was 73.25% White, 21.14% African American, 0.58% Native American, 1.54% Asian, 0.06% Pacific Islander, 1.24% from other races, and 2.19% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 3.61% of the population. There were 3,620 households out of which 50.1% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 60.4% were married couples living together, 11.0% had a female householder with no husband present, and 24.8% were non-families. 19.0% of all households were made up of individuals and 3.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
