Fort Oglethorpe is a city in Catoosa County, Georgia, United States. The population was 6,940 at the 2000 census. As of the census of 2000, there were 6,940 people, 2,873 households, and 1,881 families residing in the city. The racial makeup of the city was 93.14% White, 2.38% African American, 0.19% Native American, 2.07% Asian, 0.03% Pacific Islander, 0.56% from other races, and 1.63% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.41% of the population. The median income for a household in the city was $32,095, and the median income for a family was $40,643.
