The racial makeup of the community was 88.12% White, 6.38% African American, 0.26% Native American, 2.24% Asian, 0.07% Pacific Islander, 1.12% from other races, and 1.80% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 6.93% of the population. There were 6,547 households out of which 48.7% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 74.1% were married couples living together, 8.3% had a female householder with no husband present, and 14.1% were non-families. 10.4% of all households were made up of individuals and 2.4% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
