There were 4,952 housing units at an average density of 437.5/km² (1,133.8/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 73.79% White, 16.08% African American, 0.58% Native American, 2.21% Asian, 0.04% Pacific Islander, 4.21% from other races, and 3.09% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 16.09% of the population. There were 4,642 households out of which 37.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 49.3% were married couples living together, 16.0% had a female householder with no husband present, and 28.8% were non-families. 20.1% of all households were made up of individuals and 5.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
