My family will soon be moving to Grand Forks AFB. My husband and I, as well as our two teenagers, are very into fine arts (music, museums, art galleries, theater, etc). I looked a few places up in the area, such as Browning Arts, Empire Arts Center, and The Summer Performing Arts Company. Can anyone tell me more about these places, or perhaps suggest some other similar attractions in the Grand Forks area??

Grand Forks doesn't have alot going for it. The military base is the biggest thing there. North Dakota is a very cold place with long, long winters. Expect 9 months out of a year to be white with snow. They get blizzards regularly and their temps rival Alaska. The big excitement is Ice Fishing. I wish I could say how wonderful it is there, but its not. We lived there in the mid-90's in Fargo and we hated it there. I was transfered there with my job. Housing is cheap, but thats because there's not many jobs. Pay is low for average people and the big industry in growing grain. One of the most backward states I've ever lived in. Good Luck...maybe your time will be short there.
